DJ Booda (Rich Hayssen) is no one-trick producer. He commonly bounces from coast to coast, whether to make a cameo in his home state (California) or return to his schooling in New York City at Dubspot. There he hones his skill and broadens his diverse musical tastes to surprise you with a new yet sculptured sound.
Following up his November 2013 release Train Sessions on In Space & Time Records, a short but catchy flare of instrumental trip-hop meets downtempo, comes Record Lights (also on ISAT), which is a whole new take on electronic music for DJ Booda’s output thus far. On this latest effort, Hayssen flexes his dance music production chops with seven foot-stomping, club-friendly beats. Booda’s new direction reflects his multifaceted abilities but also his tenacity of the dance scene as a whole.
